YouTube, Vimeo and Livestream (WCMS 2)

How to insert a video

Content maintainers can embed YouTube, Vimeo or Livestream videos in a WCMS website in many different content types (web page, news, event, blog post, person profile, etc.).

Note: Due to size restriction and usability reasons, videos can only be embedded in the body/content area.

Embedding a YouTube video

  1. From the Administration bar, click My Workbench.

  2. Select Create/Manage Content tab,

  3. Select the content type (e.g., Web Page) you wish to add the YouTube video, and add a new page (e.g., Add web page).

  4. Place the cursor where the YouTube video should appear.

  5. Select the YouTube button in the toolbar.

  6. A Video Properties box will appear. Paste the YouTube URL into the respective field, and select OK.

  7. Click Save.

  8. Change the moderation state to Published and click Apply.

Note: YouTube playlists are now supported, allowing you to group videos together in a particular way to make it easier for your viewers to find the content they would like to watch.

  • Default is set to play  next video in the list.

  • You will need to start the list and then copy the URL from that page to embed on WCMS site.

  • Private videos cannot be embedded, and therefore don't display in the video count.
