Task Description

On A5/A6, the differential gearbox transmission is currently achieved using two set screws spaced 90deg apart

  • Set screws are susceptible to slipping over time w/ under high torque

  • However, the pulleys and bevel gears have key ways

  • We should rework the transmission shafts across all of A5/A6 to use keyways.

Task Breakdown

Determine full list of shafts / transmission locations on A5/A6 that can make use of keyways
Redesign shafts and integrate keyways in CAD
Review redesign
Create drawings, refab existing shafts or create new ones
