How to copy a Virtual Classroom recording to content or another course

Virtual Classroom recordings are not included when a LEARN course is copied over. The records must be moved manually.

Step-by-step guide

NOTE: Bongo lectures added to content cannot be downloaded by students. The entire zip file has to be added to content for students to be able to download the recording and for it to play.

To add a Virtual Classroom meeting to another course

  • Begin by going into the LEARN course where you recorded your meeting and navigate to Virtual Classroom.

  • Navigate to the recording and click on the actions menu and select Download. The zip file of the recording should begin downloading in the background. No need to unzip the file at this point, this step comes later.

  • Go into the destination course, navigate to the table of contents (TOC), click on the TOC on the left-hand side and in the middle panel, click on the Related Tools button and select manage files from the options available.

  • In the manage files area, click on the Upload button, and select your zip file.

  • Once your zip file has been uploaded and is visible in the list of files, unzip the package by clicking the down arrow to the right of the file title and selecting unzip from the list of options and clicking ok to the pop-up message.

  • Once the package is done unzipping, you will see 1 folder with the name of the zip file. Inside that folder, you will see two more folders and an HTML file.

  • Click on the dropdown arrow to the right of the HTML file called “playrecording.html” and choose the option to Add Content Topic.

  • This will take you to a new page where you will need to select the parent module you want to add the recording to and where you can name the “playrecording.html” file to something meaningful.

  • Click Add.

  • Return to content and ensure the newly named “playrecording.html” is visible and plays when clicked.
