SAS Studio fails to launch when running on your computer

When SAS Studio is installed on your own computer, it will take a while to start because it needs to launch a local web server and then use your default browser to access SAS as a web page.

However, in some instances, the locally installed version of SAS Studio simply fails to launch. If this happens, you can set the program to run in compatibility mode for Windows 8.

  1. Find the program and pin it to the Taskbar

  2. Right click on the icon in the Taskbar

  3. Right click on the SAS Studio 3.82 option

  4. Select Properties from the available options

Screen capture of the path to SAS Studio Properties from the taskbar
  5. Click on the “Compatibility” tab on the Properties dialogCheck the option to Run this program in compatibility mode for and select Windows 8 from the drop down list

SAS Studio Properties dialog with Compatibility mode options highlighted
  6. Click Apply
