  1. NVivo- Qualitative Data Analysis Software for Researchers software is used by all faculties at the University of Waterloo. It is intended to help qualitative researchers organize and analyze non-numerical or unstructured data. It allows users to classify, sort and arrange information; examine relationships in the data; and combine analysis with linking, shaping, searching and modelling.

  2. NVivo is available upon request to faculty, staff, graduate, and undergraduate students at the University of Waterloo for learning, teaching or research purposes at no cost.

 Zoom Software

Zoom provides videotelephony and online chat services through a cloud-based peer-to-peer software platform and is used for teleconferencing, telecommuting, distance education, and social interactions. Zoom offers two types of virtual room services:


 YubiKey Tokens - Two-Factor Autentication

A YubiKey, shown below, is a personal device assigned to a user which allows them to authenticate with DUO (2 factor authentication). The YubiKeys will need to be plugged into the users device (ex. computer) and will provide a code to enter as their second password when prompted. Most computers interpret the key as a secondary keyboard device.
