The Windows 10 Group Policy is a feature that assists you in controlling and customizing your accounts in Windows. It can also be used to help prevent internet/wi-fi connectivity issues due to the Virtual Private Network (VPN).

Step-by-step guide

Windows Home Edition Only

  1. Download the GPEdit Enabler script : GPEdit Enabler for Windows 10 Home Edition (379 bytes, 135,887 hits)

  2. Once downloaded, right-click the gpedit-enabler.bat file and select Run as Administrator.

  3. This will start the installation process. It may take some time depending upon your system performance. When the process is finished, you will be asked to press any key to close the command prompt window.

  4. In the Search field next to your Windows home button, type run and and press Enter to open the Run app:

    (alternatively, you can click on the Windows key and the letter R at the same time to open the Run app)

  5. In the “Open" field, type in gpedit.msc and press Enter to open the group policy editor on your Windows 10 Home edition.

  6. Although a restart is not required, if you experience any issues with the policies, a computer restart should fix this.
