Relevant Competition Rules

·       Battery limitations

Constraints

·       The mounting position should not interfere with the arm or current ground clearance

·       Mounts to existing rover chassis

·       Protects battery from being hit or impacted by any external elements

Criteria

·       The design must fit the current battery size with the bag around it

·       Minimizes moments on the differential bar; keeps total CG of the rover as close to the floor as possible

Design Concepts

Risk

  • Risk associated are the spacing available on chassis with battery and ebox

  • Weight of battery on chassis COM and the moment applied to the differential due to the weight of the battery

Mitigate Rist

  • Spacing can be checked within the cad model and additional alterations can be made to ensure ebox and battery both fit

  • The COM can be determined using cad, and since the battery is close to the pivot point at the differential it should limit the moment applied on the chassis·      Very quick thoughts on what resources you may need to build and fabricate your design
