What is it?

A series of endpoints containing usage data from the on-campus wireless network (Eduroam).

Where does it come from?

Data is provided to us from IST TIS Network Services. They have provided us with a direct database connection to ns-webapp-b.private.uwaterloo.ca

(The same data is visible at https://uwaterloo.ca/information-systems-technology/statistics/wifi-charts)

The access points per-building list is coming from a script on istns.uwaterloo.ca (reach out to Matt Verlis or Steve Bourque if you need assistance). The updated list is copied to our application servers (opendata-api1 and opendata-api2) via SCP every morning.

What processing do we do?

No fancy processing.

Building information is matched by id (rather than by code) between the NS database and our authoritative list of buildings. The codes in the NS database are likely incorrect if they've changed since the building was deployed with wireless.
