Signers will receive an email notification when they are required to sign a document. The notification will also direct them to contact the project initiator with any questions.
The issue
If an internal (University of Waterloo) signer sees wrongSigner in URL and the message “You do not have the necessary permissions to access this signature project” after clicking on the link provided in the email notification, it is likely the project initiator did not use the correct email address for the signer. Internal, username@uwaterloo.ca addresses must be used. This can be verified at https://idm.uwaterloo.ca/search/.
The fix
- To correct this, simply open the signature project
- Click on Signers
- Find the signer who is seeing the error message and click the Edit button next to the name
- Update to use username@uwaterloo.ca
- Once saved, this change will propagate to any other signature projects this UW signer is a part of
