Notes show for students when they are enrolling - the one section only though. 

If there's a note on section 001 the note appears on the schedule Schedule of classes Classes and in quest Quest if a student has picked that section. 

"The note only appears on the schedule Schedule of classes only Classes if it's coded on the first section. Since we only put notes on the first section when they enroll in section 2 002 they don't see the note in Quest.

Schedulers discussed adding notes to all the sections - but since no one has requested this - it would be an insane amount of work, for little pay out. payout. 

Update summer of 2024:

As we roll out more broad use of Class Search by staff in Quest, IST/Systems has added Notes to all primary sections and Schedulers will now maintain this from 1245 term onward. This is being done because in Class Search the Note needs to appear on all primary sections for it to be visible/useful to all.

Adding a note:

Log into Quest. Notes can be entered in the “Maintain Schedule of Classes” or “Schedule New Course”

There’s There are two types of notes to get added, either ones that have been created before handbeforehand, or adding a free format text note.

Free For free format text, simply copy and paste the note the scheduling rep has requested into the second box and select save.

Curriculum Management → Schedule of Classes → Class Notes Table

Select the note you’re trying to change or update.

Add an effective dated row and make the changes then save.

To add a new note:

The Description has a character limit of 30 characters.

The long description is what will appear on the schedule of classes, there’s no character limit.Class Note Set-up
