Accessing Shared and/or Generic Accounts in your browserAdd the shared mailbox so it displays under your primary mailbox.

Opening the shared mailbox in a separate browser window

To add your shared or generic account display under your primary mailbox (same browser window):
Log in to your account in Outlook on the web: https://outlook.office.com
Right-click Folders in the left navigation pane, and then choose Add shared folder.
In the Add shared folder dialog box, type the name or email address of the shared/generic mailbox, and then click Add.
The shared mailbox displays in your Folder list in Outlook on the web. You can expand or collapse the shared mailbox folders as you can with your primary mailbox.
(You also can remove the shared mailbox from your Folder list. To remove it, right-click the shared mailbox, and then click Remove shared folder.)
or accessing the shared mailbox via browser directly
Use this method if you want to view and manage the email for the shared mailbox in its own browser window.
This method also lets you receive notifications of new items in the Inbox of the shared mailbox.
The sent messages are saved in the Shared Mailboxes’ Sent folder.
Log in to your account in Outlook on the web: https://outlook.office.com
Click your initials at the top-right of the window. A drop-down list appears.
Click Open another mailbox.
Type the email address of the other mailbox that you want to open, and then
click Open. Another Outlook on the web session opens in a separate window, allowing access to the other mailbox.

To add the mailbox to your Outlook account
Adding the shared mailbox so it displays under your primary mailbox
Use this method if you want to access the shared mailbox in your Outlook account directly.
The sent messages are saved in the primary (i.e. your private/own) mailbox
you can move sent items to the correct folder by cutting and pasting or right-clicking and selecting move
Log in to
microsoft365.com with your personal 8-character UWaterloo username @uwaterloo.ca (i.e.
myuserna@uwaterloo.ca) and password. Then click on the Outlook icon from the left navigation panel.
2, Right-click Folders from the left navigation panel and then choose/click on Add shared folder from the menu presented.
3. Enter either the name of the shared mailbox or its username and click Add. In this example, the name of the shared mailbox is Shared Account and its username is sharenam@uwaterloo.ca.
(As you complete this field, a list of suggested account names will display. )
4. The account name will then appear in the list of mail folders/boxes:
