This article outlines the steps and settings to configure for a @uwaterloo.ca address to send/receive from Gmail.com.
Formally known as “SMTP Configuration For Using Gmail”.

Step 1: Head over to Gmail.com and go to the Settings tab. Here you will click Accounts and Import, then Add another email address.

Step 2: Enter your name and full UW email address (unchecking ‘treat as an alias’).

Step 3: Configure the uwaterloo.ca SMTP server settings:

• SMTP Server: connect.uwaterloo.ca

• Port: 587.

• Username: <WatIAM Username>

• Password: <WatIAM Password>

• Encryption method: TLS/SSL (either should work).
