Batteries can be ordered through Information Systems & Technology (IST). Please submit a request to rt-IST-NSinfrasec@rt.uwaterloo.cato https://uwaterloo.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/2/group/411/create/1656 .
Note: IST will charge 1 hour of staff time per panic button battery change
Replacing panic button batteries
Remove the top cover by inserting a coin into the slot located on the bottom-right corner and twist.
Move switch to the “off” position and remove the small Philips screw at the centre of the board to expose the batteries underneath.
Replace both batteries with CR-2025 lithium batteries. Ensure the batteries match polarity for slot they are being placed into.
Replace electronics board and place screw in original location.
Return switch to the “on” position and replace the unit cover.
