Uploading documents to SharePoint Online

Uploading documents to SharePoint Online (SPO) is easily accomplished using 1 of 2 methods: Drag and Drop, or using the ‘Upload’ tool.  Document libraries that require additional information (metadata) will be marked with a red question mark.

  • Edit or Contribute Permission Required 

  • All file types are accepted.  Some file types won’t be able to open or run without additional setup. 

  • Internet Explorer does not support uploading folders.

Custom views

Settings custom views will provide your end-user with a better experience.  SharePoint’s default views usually display a lot of additional information which may not be relevant to your users.  Learning to control what is displayed will reduce clutter, and save time. Please see the following:

Syncing

The syncing feature allows you to access your SPO files through File Explorer even when you’re offline, providing more flexibility and reducing the time by not needing to open a browser. 
Note if you delete a file from File Explorer, it will be deleted from both locations.
