What is Building Science?
Building Science revolves around physics, chemistry, engineering, architecture, and life sciences. Understanding the physical behavior of the building as a system and how this impacts energy efficiency, durability, comfort, and indoor air quality is essential to innovating high-performance buildings [2]
Contemporary building science has a higher focus on the full life cycle of buildings that encompasses policies (codes and standards), planning, design, construction, commissioning, facilities management, forensics and rehabilitation, restoration and retrofit, preservation and conservation, and demolition (deconstruction) and recycling [2]. In this section, the focus is around Green Buildings and Renewable Energy.
