In a shared mailbox, messages that are marked as ‘Private’ will not appear in the inbox of the Outlook desktop application, but they will appear and can still be viewed in Outlook on the Web.
If confidential (or sensitive, private) information needs to be sent over email, it is recommended to use email encryption instead.
