Gimble

  • not too close to the arm, the back is best

  • at the back, there isn't a need to make ebox and battery work around the poles

Battery

  • could go in the center of the rover if ebox is at the back

  • if it's at the back it could cause a large moment on the chassis as well as an issue with the wiring from the ebox

ebox

  • there is a lot of wiring to different parts of the rover so a central area could be best

  • not really any major requirements for its location besides wiring concerns

 

Potential Idea #1

 

  • The gimbal could be lower since looking backward is not critical, and is still possible but just slightly obstructed

  • the gimbal will be placed near the top of the ebox, not sure how it will be mounted

  • the battery will go in the middle back of the rover, lowered to match the lowest point of the drivetrain differential, with the ebox on top, not sure how the mounting will work

Concerns for Design One

  • gimbal on top needs to be taken into consideration for where the door or the access panel is of the ebox

  • battery too close to ebox and heat transfer concerns

Pros

  • better COM and wiring capability for battery and Ebox

Comms

  • new CAD for antennas worked on this week

  • gimbal will be left for now until more is known about ebox and battery mounting

E-box

  • what the dimensions of the ebox will be and size constraints

Battery

  • a more concrete design will be made for the battery mount and how it will be mounted lower on the drivetrain
