About two-factor authentication

How it works
Once you’ve opted-in to DUO 2 factor authentication (2FA), logging in to supported services is as simple as accepting the notification on your phone, or entering a PIN from a text message, phone call or token. To log in with DUO 2FA:
Enter your password as usual.
Use your phone, token or YubiKey to verify your identity.
You are securely logged in.
Why do I need this?
Passwords are increasingly easy to compromise. They can often be stolen, guessed, or hacked — you could be locked out of your account, or you might not even know someone is accessing it.
Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security, keeping your account secure even if your password is compromised. With 2FA, you'll be alerted right away (on your phone) if someone is trying to log in as you.
