Attributes are labels that can be attached to object / data for information.

Types of Attributes

Automatically Created by Jira (Unchangeable)

  1. Name (can be configured to be unique. Text is created by default) 

  2. Key (Cannot be changed after the object has been created) 

  3. Created 

  4. Updated 

Custom Creatable Types

  1. Text 

  2. Boolean (yes or no / true or false values only) 

  3. Integer (number) 

  4. Floats (decimals) 

  5. Date 

  6. URL 

  7. Email 

  8. Text area 

  9. Select

Creating an Attribute

  1. Select the heading. 

  2. Select Attributes.

  1. In the listing of attributes, enter:

    1. Name

    2. Description (optional)

    3. Leave the type as default

    4.  Type Value.

  2. Select Add

Deleting an Attribute

  1. Select the heading. 

  2. Select Attributes.

  1. Select the gear icon next to the attribute and select  Delete in the dropdown. 

  2. In the popup window, select Delete. 

Configuring a “Select” Attribute

  1. Select the heading. 

  2. Select Attributes.

  1. Select the gear icon next to the attribute.

  2. Select  Configure in the dropdown. 

  3. Under the  Options  tab, enter the text of the option you want to add.

  4. Click add.

  5. Repeat until you have the options you wish.

  6. Click update.

Add a Suffix to an Attribute

  1. Select the heading. 

  2. Select Attributes.

  1. Select the gear icon next to the attribute.

  2. Select  Configure in the dropdown. 

  3. Under the  General  tab, enter a value in the Suffix field. 

Show the Sum of Multiple Attributes

  1. Select the heading. 

  2. Select Attributes.
