A Timeline allows site visitors to view content listed by its relevant date. With the Timeline Block, the information is presented in a vertical fashion with the option to sort by descending date, ascending date or order as entered.

How to create a Timeline

If you need to create a web page first, please review the instructions on how to create a web page

  1. From the administration bar, select Workbench, then select My Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the Content list panel and select the content you would like to edit.

  3. Select the Layout tab.

  4. Select + Add section, if applicable, the select + Add block.

  5. Under Content, select Timeline.

  6. Add a Title. The title will appear as the heading for the Block unless Display title is unchecked. See an example in step 15.

  7. Select a Timeline style.

  8. Select a Timeline sort.

  9. Under Timeline, enter the Date of the item.

  10. Enter a Headline for the item.

  11. If desired, under Photo, insert a photo by selecting Add Media.                 

  12. If desired, add a Link. Adding a link allows the user to be redirected to a linked webpage upon clicking on the specific event. 

  13. If desired, enter copy text content in the Content field. See an example in step 15.

  14. If desired, select Add timeline item and repeat steps 9-13 to add another Timeline item.

  15. Select Add block (Or Update if it is a pre-existing Block).

  16. Navigate to the top of the page and select a state from the Change to: drop-down menu. 

  17. Select Save layout.
