Hardware support

  • Information Systems & Technology (IST) will advise and assist clients with the configuration and purchase selection of Apple hardware. This consultation will usually be done by the IST support person noted below.

  • The client will be directed to the IST-Client Services area representative for their area.

Software support

Supported O/S versions:

  • macOS 13 (Ventura)

  • macOS 12 (Monterey)

  • Minimal support for older versions of Mac OS X

Applications supported by IST

  • Mac O/S functionality/applications

These are the standard built applications and functionality that are part of the O/S. Basic support is provided.

Additional Apple applications

  • These are applications or suites of applications that Apple sells and often bundles with the Mac.

  • We may assist with support for these applications, time and knowledge permitting:

    • Photos

    • Pages

    • Numbers

    • Keynote

Windows support on the Mac

Intel-based Macs have the option of running a Windows environment. The IST Client Services Mac support group is responsible for help with Mac setup to allow a Windows environment, but not necessarily responsible for Windows support as that responsibility may be with the Windows support group. Support for Windows applications is handled in the same manner as a "standard" Windows machine.
