UPDATES

  • Progress Updates

    • PDB Rev4 - Design and Assemble the PDB Rishith Bomman has been asked to have the layout done by the 28th, design reviews will be done by the 1st and hopefully the board will be ordered on the 3rd.

      • Update: Layout reviews have been completed, parts are ordered, will be ordering boards after Wednesday's meeting.

    • BMS - Design and Assemble the BMS Joshua Harper has been asked to have the layout done by the 28th, design reviews will be done by the 1st and hopefully the board will be ordered on the 3rd.

      • Update: Layout reviews have been completed, parts are ordered, will be ordering boards after Wednesday's meeting.

    • Multiphase Buck Converter Rev 2 - Design and Assemble the Buck Converter

      • One of the bucks has been assembled

      • We are blocked from testing it. We need a variable power supply, 0-60V for testing line regulation, and a high-power fixed supply for testing load regulation.

      • Update: Wolfy has ordered a fixed output power supply, and I’ve ordered some other supplies for testing.

      • Update: Austin is working on getting us a variable output power supply for testing.

    • Comms Yuchen has started working on creating documentation for how to use the comms system.

      • Update: Yuchen has created documentation from the URC rules and advisements. He still does not have access to confluence so I will be moving the information over.

      • Update: Yuchen is almost done working his way through the old google drive and creating some sort of documentation from that. Its pretty scattered though.

  • Onboarding Updates

    • So far we have 4 new members who are actively engaged with the team, David, Rayaan, Olivia, and Yuchen.

    • Rayaan has been assigned to PDB. He is currently working through the schematics. He will be in charge of assembly and testing when the time comes.

    • Olivia has been assigned to BMS. She is currently working through the schematics. He will be in charge of assembly and testing when the time comes.

    • Yuchen (aka Billy) volunteered to learn about the comms system. He has started looking through existing documentation and taking notes.

    • David is currently working through the training and tutorials. Once he is done with that, I will have him own getting the SPI LVDS boards up and running while mentoring him on a side project to get him familiar with Altium.

ACTION ITEMS

  • What’s next?

    • Buy a variable and a fixed output power supply (done now)

    • Order the PDB and BMS (This Wednesday hopefully)

    • Find all of the comms hardware and confirm the current setup so Yuchen can collect data sheets and create a plan for testing.

    • Over the reading week, Paul and I will test the buck, assuming we have both power supplies by then.

    • Over the reading week, Yuchen and I are going to go to the bay and try and set up some comms stuff.

    • Move Yuchens comms research over to confluence.

  • Misc.
