Creating the Space
In order to request an asset space, a ticket to IST must be submitted.
Submit it under the category Information Systems and Technology > Applications and Software > Atlassian
Fill out:
Summary – New site for Jira Assets.
Request Participants – lgchase, cw-tech + the supervisor of whatever the space is being created for.
Please select the topic you require assistance with – Create a new Jira project, Jira Service Management project, Confluence space, or Assets schema.
What product do you need support with? – Jira Assets.
Schema Name – The name of the project. eg. Campus Wellness Lab
Project Key – Acronym for the website. eg. CWLAB
Managers – lgchase, vcozzari, cw-tech + the supervisor of whatever the space is being created for.
Additional Information
IST will confirm and email a link to the space once it has been created.
Bookmark the link.
Schema Tree
On the left is the schema tree. It holds all the objects you add into Jira Assets.
This is will have your database / inventory and an index dropdown.
In the index dropdown will be all your headings and subheadings.
An example:
Making the Database / Inventory (Main Page)
In the schema tree, press the + icon.
In the popup window:
Enter a name (either Database or Inventory).
Select an icon.
Parent type is none.
Enter a description for the object type (optional).
Click create.
From the schema tree, click on the heading you have just created.
Click the 3 dots next to create object.
Click inheritance.
Turn pass all attributes to child object types as on.
Click Back to your page.
Making the Index
In the schema tree, press the + icon
In the popup window:
Enter the name as Index
Select an icon.
Parent type is none.
No description needed.
Click create.
From the schema tree, click on index heading.
Click the 3 dots next to create object.
Click inheritance.
Turn pass all attributes to child object types as on.
Click Back to your page.
