ConsignO signers receive an email notification when they are required to sign a document. This notification also directs them to contact the project initiator with any questions.However, if the incorrect version of their email address is used in the project, internal signers will receive the following error message:

The issue

If an internal (University of Waterloo) signer sees wrongSigner in URL and the message “You do not have the necessary permissions to access this signature project” after clicking on the link provided in the email notification, it is likely the project initiator did not use the correct email address for the signer.

When adding an internal signer to a project, the 8-character UWaterloo username@uwaterloo.ca (i.e. myuserna@uwaterloo.ca) address must be used. You can search for someone’s username at https://idm.uwaterloo.ca/search/in Campus Directory. To ensure you are using the correct email, use the information in the User ID username field.

2. Open the signature project

3. Click on Signers

4. Find the signer who is seeing the error message and click the Edit button next to their name
