Log into the UW VPN website, (if that link doesn’t work, try this one) login with your WatIAM user ID credentials , and enter your 2FA method in the Second Password field:

Duo Mobile Push - type in “push”

Duo hardware token or Duo app - type in your 6-digit code

For Duo Bypass code - type in your bypass code

Click the installation for your operating system , in this case,(e.g., Download for Windows.

When downloading, click the arrow beside the download and click Open or Open when done.

Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility ) and open the file when it has finished downloading.

Cisco Secure Client Setup pop up will appear.

1. Click Next.

2. Click I agree to the terms in the License Agreement.

3. Click Next.

4. Click Install.

Once installation is complete, click Finish.

Click the Start button and search for Cisco AnyConnect Secure Client.

Specify the VPN server: cn-vpn.uwaterloo.ca.

Click Connect.

In the window that opens, change the Group drop-down , select to UW-General-Campus.

Enter your WatIAM user ID credentials (e.g., lgchase) and your 2FA method in the Second Password field:

• Duo Mobile Push - type in “push”

• For Duo Bypass code - type in your bypass code

• For Yubikey - type in the code generated by touching the Yubikey button

Click OK.

You should now be connected, you can double-check that you are by:

1. Click the up arrow in your task bars right side to show hidden icons.

   

2. Hover over the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Client taskbar icon to see if you are connected.

Double-click the package downloaded to run the installer.

AnyConnect Cisco Secure Mobility Client window will pop up to install the package and will require you to accept the Cisco software license.

Click Finish.

Open Cisco AnyConnectCisco Secure Client.

Specify the VPN server: cn-vpn.uwaterloo.ca.
