Internal signers will receive a notification when they are required to review, approve, and sign an electronic document. They will be required to authenticate using their 8-character UWaterloo username @uwaterloo.ca (i.e. myuserna@uwaterloo.ca). note
Important Note: ConsignO provides UWaterloo staff with the ability to receive legally binding protected electronic signatures. Wherever possible, please limit its use for any internal work except for where a legal signature is required.
Step-by-step guide
Sign into ConsignO at https://uwaterloo.ConsignO.com/login using your 8-character UWaterloo username@uwaterloo.ca (i.e. myuserna@uwaterloo.ca)
Click on New Project in the top right corner
Give your project a Project Name
Set an Expiration Date for your project
Select files to upload. (ConsignO accepts the following file formats: .pdf, .doc, .docx, .dot, .dotx, .dotm, .rtf, .txt, .xml, .vcf, .ics, .wpd, .ppt, .pptx, .pps, .pot, .potx, .potm, .ppa, .ppam, .vsd, .vdx, .vdw, .vss, .vsx, .mpp, .mpy, .mpd, .mpw, .mpx, .pub)
Click on Signers
You can search for the internal signer by using their username, first name or last name in the search criteria in All address books
If found, check the checkbox next to their name and click Add
If not found, click on New signer
Click Trusted electronic signature
Enter the contact’s first name and last name
Enter the contact’s username@uwaterloo.ca. You can search for someone’s username at https://idm.uwaterloo.ca/search/, Note: use the User ID information.
Click Next
On the Contact authentication page, you will be able to select which address book to add the new signer. The best practice when adding an internal signer, is to add them to the Organization’s address book so others can use this signer.
Click New to save your contact.
You will now see the UW signer’s name under Number of zones available for you to drag and drop this signature zone to the appropriate location on your document
Click Launch to send your project once complete or click Save to save and send later.
