On August 24, 2023 D2L made significant changes to Quizzes. The changes include auto-submission, a simpler quiz setup, and the removal of obsolete quiz timing options (such as the grace period). The changes are summarized in the tables below.
Previously, users had two different primary options for timing (Recommended or Enforced) and then sub-options under Enforced timing for what should happen when exceeding the limit.

Overview of timing changes

Enforced Time Limit > Allow the student to continue working, but score the attempt as zero after an extended deadline | Automatically submit the quiz attempt | This option is being removed. The quiz will now be automatically submitted at the end of the time limit. |
