In a shared mailbox, Incoming messages that are were marked as ‘Private’ by the sender will not appear in the inbox of the Outlook desktop application, but they will appear and can still be viewed in Outlook on the Web. shared mailbox when viewing the mailbox using the Outlook Desktop app.
These messages do, however, appear marked as 'Private” in the shared mailbox when viewing the mailbox using Outlook on the Web.

If confidential (or sensitive, private) information needs to be sent over email, it is recommended to use email encryption instead.
