  1. Open your web browser and navigate to the following website: httphttps://www.wvdavd.uwaterloo.ca/

  2. If you are not already logged in with your University of Waterloo account, you will be prompted to log in.

    1. Enter your 8-character UWaterloo username @uwaterloo.ca (e.g. myuserna@uwaterloo.ca) and password. You will also need to authenticate with DUO two-factor authentication)
      For additional information on DUO two-factor authentication, please see https://uwaterloo.ca/two-factor-authentication/.

  3. You will be logged into the Windows Virtual Desktop (AVD) Remote App Portal and see the UWaterloo virtual lab desktops that you are permitted to access.

How to connect to AVD full desktop

Select the desired virtual lab by double-clicking the icon.

You will receive a prompt to access local resources (clipboard, printer and microphone). Click Allow.

Enter your 8-character username @uwaterloo.ca (e.g. myuserna@uwaterloo.ca), if this field is not already populated and your password. Click Submit.

You will see a Connecting and launching message.

The full virtual desktop will now display on your screen.
