If you have Dropbox assignments in a course and that you intend would like to use the same assignment in another course that you teach, you will be able to copy this Dropbox assignment to another course you teachyou can copy the Dropbox assignments to the other course.

If you have already used the Import/Export tool to copy all Dropboxes to the destination course, using this tool again will duplicate the Dropbox in the destination course.

Note: Instructors must have permission permissions in LEARN for both the originating and destination courses. 

The copied Dropbox folder

...

will include the following key Dropbox properties:

  • Dropbox folder and properties, including instructions, Dropbox category, and visibility

  • Dropbox properties including include description, attachments (direct file attachments, uploaded from Google Workspace or OneDrive, and audio and video files), and category

  • Grade item and grade category

  • Availability dates

  • Submission and completion information, including the Optional Grade item and the course scheme if used.

  • Rubric(s) associated with the Dropbox. When copying a Dropbox that uses a shared rubric, instead of linking a copied Dropbox to a shared rubric, the rubric is also copied. The copied Dropbox links to the copied rubric. If a Dropbox uses a rubric that is archived, the rubric is copied and retains the archived state in the destination courses. 

The following properties will not be

  • Instruction quick links and attachment resources created with the Attach link to existing activity action.

  • Instruction images that were added using Insert Image that and were saved to course files.

  • Availability Release conditions and special access settings

  • Submission and completion information including group Dropbox designation.

  • Evaluation and Feedback information including Turnitin associations, competency, and outcome associations.

  • Content topic associations (for example, if the Dropbox is linked from content)

NOTE: In some cases, references to links and images that are not copied may result in broken links. 

Step by Step

1. In LEARN, go to the course you want to copy the Dropbox Assignment from

4. Select Copy to Other Courses as shown below

5. On the Copy Dropboxes  dialoguedialogue (shown as Copy Assignment on the dialogue screen), select the checkbox beside the Dropbox folder you intend to copy as shown as “Tips and Tricks Course” in the image below. Then click Next.
You will be able to select the associated rubrics and grade items and choose destinations.

8. Click Done in the lower left when the copy completes, or you can navigate away, and a minibar notification will indicate when the Dropbox has been copied to all the destination courses.
