How to recover a backup from a MacOS (NetApp) network drive
Note
The username mentioned in the guide below refers to your 8-character username (e.g. j25rober) and password
From the Mac OS X Finder, hit the Command+K keys simultaneously to bring up the Connect to Server window.
Enter the path to the network drive you want to map:
For your personal N:drive use this path: cifs://fileu.uwaterloo.ca/users$/~snapshot
For a shared R:drive (departmental Shares), there is a slightly different path. In Science for example, the path would be: cifs://filed.uwaterloo.ca/science$/~snapshot
Click Connect.
Enter your Nexus login in the the format Nexus\username 8 character UWaterloo username (i.e. j25rober) and password.
Click OK to mount the network drive.
The drive will appear on your desktop and in the Finder window sidebar
