This document will serve as a weekly retrospective, similar to the sprint retrospective you will have in the industry. It will help us organize all the progress and documentation you have worked on. This will also help the supervisor improve task planning and collaboration. Don’t be stressed if there is not a lot to put on this document. It is very typical if you just start looking into a new field, try to keep frequent communication with your supervisor, and we can work together.

How to use this document

  • Copy this template document and fill the document at the end of the week(normally on Friday Afternoon). This document should be a short 10 min update doc.

  • DO NOT DIRECTLY EDIT ON THIS DOCUMENT

Weekly Progress Update

  • DD current sensing board

    • Status: IN PROGRESS

    • K:\University of Waterloo Robotics Team\Mars Rover\Sandbox\Senna Barborini\Torque Jig

    • N/A

    • Component selection is nearly complete, still needing the IC. After the components have been selected, schematics and layout can be made on Altium. Altium has been installed.

  • Bearing Installation on DT

    • Status: COMPLETED

    • N/A

    • N/A

    • All six wheels now have a smother drive as the bearings ensure constant concentricity. There is significantly less friction opposed to the prior configuration where the Odrive casing would rub against the aluminum mount.

  • Communication Gimble

    • Status: IN PROGRESS

    • K:\University of Waterloo Robotics Team\Mars Rover\Sandbox\Senna Barborini\Wave Nano

    • image-20240920-150425.png

    • Assembly is nearly complete. What remains is modeling how the servo actuates the gimbal. Then, physical production of the prototype may begin.

Next Week Plan

  • Communication Gimbal

    • Status: R&D

    • N/A

  • Electrical project: DD current sensing board

    • understanding the math and theory behind it

    • Complete component selection (voltage sensing, current sensing IC, STM chip, CAN transciever)

    • Complete the schematic and conduct a design review

    • Complete the Layout

    • Generate the Gerber and be ready to send to manufacture

  • No labels
