Launch Patient Messaging
You can launch Patient Messaging in Accuro in different ways:
Click the HealthMail icon in the Accuro Notifications Area.
The indicator next to the HealthMail icon shows the number of unread messages.
Search for HealthMail in the Accuro Start Menu
Have a patient globally selected
Open the Accuro Start menu
Search for Medeo Messages for the Current Patient
HealthMail Window
The HealthMail window is divided into two sections.
The left side lists your messages, which can be sorted and filtered.
The right side displays the message you’re currently writing, the last selected message, or a blank conversation.
Send a Message
When you send a Patient Message from Accuro, your patient receives an email notification instructing them to log in and view the message in Medeo.
If they have never created a Medeo account, they will be prompted to do so.
You can send Patient Messages as open or closed conversations; patients can only reply to open conversation threads.
Close a Conversation Thread
If you click the Send the message and close this conversation button your patients cannot reply to the message thread.
Use this option for one-way communications like reporting lab results or sending requisition forms.
Alternatively, you can close a conversation thread by clicking the Close Conversation Thread button located at the top right of the conversation.
Patient Replies
When a patient replies to a message that has been sent and another response from the office is required:
Open a Patient Message in HealthMail.
Compose your reply in the area labelled, Write your message here.
Click the Send the message and close this conversation button, or the Send button.
To mark any HealthMail message as Unread:
Right-click the message in the left column of the HealthMail window.
Click Mark Selected as Unread.
