Setting up Nexus printers
A full list of printers is available from \\artsprint. Printers are normally named p_[department name]. Copiers are normally named p_[department name]-copier. Typically, users are set up with their corresponding department copier (i.e. John Smith in French studies would have p_french-copier) and any printers located directly in their office.
The following instructions assume the user is connected to the internet with a wired campus connection or through eduroam:

Click Start, enter \\artsprint, and then click Enter.
If you are prompted for your WatIAM credentials, do so. Remember to add nexus\ before your username (e.g. nexus\acocoop1).
Double-click the printer you wish to add to the machine. Repeat for all requested printers.
Print a blank page to test that the printer is properly connected and working.
Setting up Nexus printers on Macs
Open Printers & Scanners in System Preferences.
Click the small + sign under the left menu.
Ctrl-click on the grey space at the top of the window and select Customize toolbar.
Drag and drop advanced options to the toolbar.
Click Done, then under the Advanced Options tab, enter the following info after the searching for printers times out:
Type: Windows printer via spoolss
Device: Another device· URL: smb://artsprint.nexus.uwaterloo.ca/[artsprint printer name]
Name: [printer name]
Location: can leave blank
Use: Select Printer Driver > Select Software > select the appropriate driver (may need to be downloaded from the internet beforehand)
Click Add
Repeat for all requested printers.
Print a blank page to test that the printer is properly connected and working.
Printer Driver USB - For Mac
The ACO Helpdesk has a black 16GB USB stick labelled ‘Mac Printers’ that can also be used when connecting staff or faculty to any of the Arts Department Printers if they are on a Mac.
Simply insert the USB and install the desired package:
For a Xerox Copier: install the package labelled XeroxPrintDrivers.pkg
For an HP Printer: install the package labelled HewlettPackardPrinterDrivers.pkg
After either of these are installed, simply select the printer you would like to use.
