Sort and group contacts
Contacts can be sorted alphabetically, manually, or by contact group.
Contact groups are used to filter contacts based on their position, title, affiliation etc.
List contacts alphabetically
By default, contacts appear on the listing page in alphabetical order by the "name for sorting purposes" field. If you have rearranged the contacts and wish to return them to alphabetical order, follow the following steps:
Go to My Dashboard and select Rearrange from the Contact menu in the Content types block.
Then, select the Reset order button at the bottom of the contact list.
To keep things always in alphabetical order, select the Reset order button without hitting the Save order button.
Keep specific contacts at top of contact list
Select the contact you wish to remain at the top of the list, even if the list is ordered alphabetically.
Select the Edit tab.
On the right hand side, select PROMOTION OPTIONS.
Select the check box beside Sticky at top of lists. If more than one contact has Sticky at top of lists selected, then they will appear alphabetically at the top of the list.
Select the Save button at the bottom of the screen.
Manually rearrange contacts
Go to My Dashboard and select Rearrange from the Contact menu in the Content types block.
Then, rearrange the contacts by selecting the crosshairs icon beside the names and dragging them to the desired location or by changing the weight number.
As soon as you select Save order on the sorting page, the contacts are saved in the exact order they display, and any new items appear at the end.
Add Contact groups
From the administration bar, select Workbench, and then select My Dashboard.
Navigate to Content types.
In the drop-down menu next to Contact, select Add contact tag.
Enter the name of the contact group in the Name field.
Select Save.
Contact groups can also be added in the Edit tab of a contact. Any contact groups entered in the Group(s) field will automatically be added as a contact group.
Rearrange Contact groups
Contact groups are listed in the order they were created. They can also be reset to display in alphabetical order.
From the administration bar, select Workbench, and then select My Dashboard.
Navigate to Content types.
In the drop-down menu next to Contact, select List contact tags.
Rearrange the contact groups by selecting the crosshairs icon beside the names and dragging them to the desired location.
Select Save.
Note: The "Reset to alphabetical" button can be used to arrange all the contacts in alphabetical order.
Delete Contact groups
Site managers can delete contact groups.
From the administration bar, select Workbench, and then select My Dashboard.
Navigate to Content types.
In the drop-down menu next to Contact, select List contact tags.
Beside the group you wish to delete, select the drop-down menu on the Edit button under Operations and select Delete.
The next window will ask if you are sure you wish to delete the taxonomy term. This action cannot be undone. Select Delete.
Select Save.
