How to log in

To provide an extra layer of security, WCMS 3 sites no longer have a Log in button located in the site footer. Users must now log in using the URL site path.

Note: You can ONLY log in via the homepage URL.

Log in

  1. Open your browser (Firefox is recommended).

  2. Navigate to the intended site.

  3. Type /user to the end of the site home page URL (e.g. https://uwaterloo.ca/example-site/user).

  1. Select Log in via ADFS.

  1. Enter your WatIAM email (@uwaterloo email) and select Next.

  2. Enter your WatIAM password and select Sign in.

  3. Complete two-factor authentication (2FA) prompts.

Note: 2FA is mandatory for all University students and employees to access 2FA supported services.

You will see that you have successfully logged in when the Administration toolbar appears showing Workbench, Shortcuts, and your Profile. 

Note: Alternatively, use this keyboard shortcut to log in on any page of the site: 

Windows: control-Windows key-alt-l

Mac: control-option-command-l

Log out

  1. From the administration bar, select your name.

  2. Select Log out.
