PDR Two

Constraints

  • The mounting position should not interfere with the arm or minimum ground clearance

  • must be 26.9 x 17 x 17 cm to fit the battery and bag

Criteria

  • Minimizes moments on the differential bar; ensures that the chassis is balanced

    • This affects the CG height and the CG proximity to the differential bar. THis will also be dependant on the device mounted to the front of the rover

  • allowing for ease of wiring from the ebox to other parts of the rover such as the arm?

    • This will require collaboration with the Ebox placement.

  • Protects battery from being hit or impacted by elements such as rocks or other debris under the rover

Design Concepts

Mitigate Rist

  • Spacing can be checked within the cad model and additional alterations can be made to ensure ebox and battery both fit

  • The COM can be determined using cad

Trade-Offs

  • CG (height)

  • CG (Proximity to the differential bar)

  • Ebox accessibility, wiring ability, and ability to access ports

  • Interference with coms if places near them

Timeline

  • the part should be manufactured by the end of the term

  • the design will be reviewed and work can start on the can model by the end of the week (November 11)

Resources

  • Stock, probably a plate that can be shaped, or multiple plates assembled together with connectors

  • machine shop
