New Members

  • get an estimate on how many people are interested in firmware

Training

  • Training may discourage new member retention this term - instead lets try to get new members to work on science inputs and outputs on arduino

  • All of the sensors for soil

  • Metal capacitive sensors

  • Motor control (reading RPM, position control, reading from limit switches, etc)

  • Creating small testing controllers for all of these modules

  • Need to test servos for test tube lid, dino lite camera

  • Meet with electrical and mechanical to make sure things work

    • yes, bring it up to date with all motor specs

  • ignore science board for now, fully test mechanism off or Arduino

Active Tasks

  • CAN Communication

    • Current state of the CAN module is unknown. Jesse was working on it previously, but it is unknown if it is currently working

    • Jahnavi to focus on getting the full state of the CAN module understood and work on getting it fixed

      • Sync with Melvin and Cindy to understand current state

      • See if we can get some assistance from Cindy this term

    • Nico can focus on getting the motors up and running for testing (using nucleos, discontinuous from CAN module)

  • Repository for firmware was being transition to modular layout, once the CAN module is fixed up the rest of the repo can be updated

    • repo for arm, gimbal, drivetrain, PDB, BMS, science

    • needs CAN module to be in a working state before this can get worked on

  • Unknown if firmware support for comms is required

    • check to see if there is a repo for antennae
