Absence Database Wiki

Absence.uwaterloo.ca (vif.uwaterloo.ca) is the software currently used across campus for tracking approved student absences.

The service handles the submission and vetting of “Verification of Illness” forms and other supporting documentation. It also syncs with Quest to include short-term, self-declared, and creed/Religious absences.

University of Waterloo instructors are able to log in to the service to view absence records relevant to courses they are currently teaching. Please refer to our https://uwaterloo.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SCIVIF/pages/42642767891 for more information.

Note: some schools and units have additional mechanisms for tracking absences outside of this service.
