How to Change the Default Print Colour Option

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to change the default print options to be black and white on Windows and Mac

You can still print in colour but please only do so when needed

Windows

  1. Click on the search bar at the bottom of the screen

  1. Type in β€œprinter” and select Open in Printers & scanners

  1. Select the printer you use

  1. Select Printing preferences

  1. Select the drop down menu in Color Mode

  1. Select Black and White, click Apply then OK

  1. Documents should now default to printing in black and white for that printer

Mac

  1. When in the print screen for your document, ensure the Black & White checkbox is checked blue

This checkbox will have to be rechecked every time you print so ensure it is checked

  1. The document will then be printed in black and white
