How to Setup in PHR 6011

 

Summary

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to use the built-in PC and camera or set up an external laptop

If you encounter any issues or want setup assistance, please contact phr-it@uwaterloo.ca

Please turn off TV when finished

Using the PC

  1. Turn on the TV

    • Ensure the TV is set to PC D-SUB using the remote

  2. Click any button on the keyboard to wake up the PC

    • Ensure the keyboard and mouse are turned on

  1. Log in using your WatIAm credentials (username@uwaterloo.ca and password)

Note for Extra Connections

If needed, there are extra connections available on the PC (located in the “Tech Cupboard” below the TV) if needed (there should also be a slides clicker next to the PC)

There are also extra outlets and ethernet ports under the metal plate on the table

Using the Camera

The PC comes setup with a Logitech MeetUp, allowing you to use it as an adjustable camera, speaker and microphone

The square remote on the table controls the camera, from zoom and orientation to volume and microphone muting

Using a Laptop

Laptop will need to have a functional HDMI (or appropriate adaptor) and USB-A (if using Owl) ports

  1. Turn on TV

    • Ensure TV is set to AV HDMI

  1. Locate the HDMI cable below the TV in “Tech Cupboard” and plug it into your laptop

HDMI cord is long enough to reach the other side of the table
  1. Log into laptop

Note for Owl

If you are doing hybrid work/meetings you can request for an Owl to be setup by creating a ticket to phr-it@uwaterloo.ca

The Owl has a 360° camera with auto-tracking, a microphone and a speaker

  1. Right click on the home screen to bring up the context menu and click Display settings

  1. Click on the Apple icon in the top left corner of your screen then click System Settings

  1. Click on Displays then click the arrows from the Use as dropdown menu

  1. Select the Mirror option (will not appear as SAMSUNG)
