Qualys Vulnerability Management

Qualys is a cloud-based vulnerability management platform that identifies security vulnerabilities on systems including missing patches and misconfigurations.

Qualys Agent is a software that can be installed on endpoints that collects detailed vulnerability information as well as asset inventory data. The Qualys Agent software itself works passively; it will detect these issues, but does not remediate them.

Managed workstations

University of Waterloo owned, managed PCs receive Qualys Agent.

Non-managed or personal workstations

Non-managed, University-owned PCs should still install Qualys Agent. To do so, please first consult with your local IT rep, who may escalate the request to IST.
