Vevox Powerpoint Plugin
The Vevox Powerpoint Plugin is only available in the Desktop version of M365 Powerpoint. You must use the Desktop version to build slides with the Vevox Powerpoint Plugin and to present a Powerpoint with Vevox slides.
Step-by-step guide
Open PowerPoint and select the Vevox icon from the PowerPoint ribbon.
Select the 'Get Started' button from the task pane on the right-hand side of your PowerPoint deck.
A pop-up menu will appear, requesting you to enter your login credentials. Use your UWaterloo email as your login and it will direct you to UWaterloo’s single sign-on.
Connect to your session - After entering your login credentials you will be prompted to choose the session you want to connect to. Select the session from the list by clicking on it. It will also indicate what the session status is - whether it is in the started, waiting or stopped mode. (If you do not have any sessions already created in Vevox, go to Step 6).
If you have added polls to the dashboard already, they will appear in the task panel to the right of the PowerPoint slide deck. From here you can add them to your slide deck.
Create a new session (optional): If you have not yet set up any sessions you can create one instantly. Select the 'Plus' sign, give your session a name and click on the session to select it. A notice will indicate that your session is not started and there will be no polls in it yet.
Or if you have logged into the Add-in but without selecting a session, next time when you open your PowerPoint Slide deck, you will be asked to select a session from your session list in the dashboard.
It is also possible to switch between sessions or log out of the Add-in completely by selecting the three dots in the task pane next to the session name.
Things to watch out for when using Vevox with Powerpoint
If your Powerpoint file has been open for some time on your machine, your Vevox session may have expired. Save and close your Powerpoint file, reopen the file, and login to Vevox again.
It is recommended that you have one Vevox session linked to one Powerpoint file (i.e., each Powerpoint file should be linked to a unique Vevox session).
