Creating an Accordion Element in Creator+
These steps will guide you through creating an Accordion Element in Creator+.
According to D2L, accordions are useful when you have a list of items with additional information to learn about each item. Using an accordion allows the learner to focus on learning the list first, then expanding their understanding by opening each accordion. Scaffolding content in this way supports the cognitive organization of this information.
Accordions can be either numbered or unnumbered depending on your use case.
To create an accordion activity, click on the Upload/Create button and choose Create a file from the list of options.
After you select Create a file, enter a title for your page and then select the + icon from the HTML editor and choose Insert Element.
After you have selected Insert Element, choose Accordion from the list of options.
Once in the accordion element type, decide if you want to use a numbered or unnumbered accordion, and if you want to replace the default Learner instructions with custom instructions.
Next, fill in your accordion title and descriptions.
If you require more than the default two accordion titles and content, click the + Add Accordion Item at the bottom of the window.
After you are done adding your content, click the Preview button to see how it will look to your students.
If you are happy with how it looks, click the Insert button to add the accordion to the page.
Remember to Save and Close your page.
