How to download WebEx MP4 files
Step-by-step guide:
Login to uwaterloo.webex.com.
Select “My Recordings” from the left panel of the screen.
Click on the download icon at the right side of the title of recording you’d like to download.
In The pop up click “Download” to download both the video file and the text transcription for the video. Both files will be downloaded to your computer.
The .vtt file is separate from the .MP4 file and contains the text transcript of your video. You will need this file to maintain the transcript in your video.
The .MP4 video file and the .VTT transcript file will be stored on your computer in your File Explorer’s “Downloads” section.
To Save downloaded recordings To OneDrive:
Log in to your Microsoft 365 (M365) account by going to office.com using your 8-character UWaterloo username @uwaterloo.ca (e.g. myuserna@uwaterloo.ca) and password.
On Windows:
Click the Upload button on the right-hand side of the homepage.
On Mac:
Click the Add New button in the top left panel on the homepage.
Choose the correct file from your file explorer and Double Click the title to upload it to OneDrive.
Using the search bar at the top of the page, type the title of your uploaded file to confirm it was downloaded to OneDrive.
If you would like to include a .vtt file follow these next steps:
Click on the title of your .MP4 file in OneDrive to open the file.
Locate “Video Settings” on the menu bar on the left side of the page.
Under the “Transcripts and captions” section click “Upload”
Select the corresponding .vtt file for the .MP4 file you currently have open and click “Done”.
Your Transcript is now saved in the .MP4 file and will be there each time you open the video.
