Linux Ubuntu 22.04 802.1x Wired Authentication

Follow these instructions to authenticate to the 802.1x network using an Ubuntu 22.04 device.

  1. Click on the Applications icon

     

  2. Use the search bar to search for Advanced Network Configuration

  3. Click the + button on the window that appears to create a new connection.

  4. Select Ethernet from the list in the drop-down menu, then click on Create…

     

  5. Name your connection and navigate to the 802.1x Security tab

     

  6. Select the Use 802.1x security for this connection checkbox

     

  7. Configure the connection with the shown settings and click Save

     

  8. To use the connection you created, click on the Network Manager icon

     

  9. Click on your Wired connection

     

  10. Select the 802.1x connection you created and wait 15-20 seconds for it to connect

     

You should now be authenticated to the 802.1x wired network.
