Using a Skype for Business extension

While working from home, a Skype for Business (S4B) extension allows you to make and receive calls through your computer and be identified as a University of Waterloo caller. Currently, a S4B extension is $8 per month, with additional long distance call charges if applicable.

  1. Enter their name in the Contacts search window.

  2. Once you find the correct contact, you can hover over the contact and click call options in the drop-down next to the phone icon and select Skype call.

2. Dial by extension

Enter their UW extension in the Phone search window

If you do not know their UW extension, you can search by their name.

  2. Note: With a S4B extension, you do not need to enter “6” ahead of the phone number to make an off-campus call.
