Meeting Owl modes

Meeting Owl modes

The Meeting Owl has a number of different video modes that you can switch between by pressing the “multi-purpose button” located above where the cords connect to the Owl.

Pressing the multi-purpose button once will move the next mode in the list and continue to cycle through the modes with each subsequent press of the button. If you long-press the button for 3 seconds, it will return to the default “Auto-Focus” mode.

Different Modes

  • Auto-focus - (default) The Owl will split the screen to follow up to 3 active speakers in the room.

  • Grid - The Owl will show up to 8 people in the room and frame each in their own window/panel.

  • Manual - locks the Owl so it behaves more like a traditional, static webcam. Once enabled, you set the Owl so it is capturing the area you want to stream and it will stay focused on that area.

  • Panorama - Splits the room in half, showing both halves in two strips across the screen.

  • Speaker - Shows the most active or most recent speaker in the room. It differs from Auto-focus in that it only shows one speaker at a time (does not split the screen).

Note: These modes are not available on the first-generation Meeting Owl that is available to be loaned out. Only the Auto-Focus mode is available on that device.
