ClinicalConnect

ClinicalConnect

Overview

ClinicalConnect is a secure, web-based portal that gives health care providers real-time access to their patients’ electronic medical information from all acute care hospitals, Local Health Integration Networks’ (LHIN) Home and Community Care Services and Regional Cancer Programs in South West Ontario, in addition to various provincial clinical data repositories. It provides timely and secure access to comprehensive patient health care information including, but not limited to:

  • Hospital Visits

  • Lab Results

  • Dispensed Drugs

  • Diagnostic images

  • Transcribed Reports

  • Home and Community Care Information

Getting Access

In order to gain access to the system, a provider must contact our Local Registration Authority (LRA) [currently Lance] to express their desire to use ClinicalConnect and must also provide their ONE ID email address (e.g., firstname.lastname@oneid.on.ca). The LRA will go to the https://ags.clinicalconnect.ca/, register the new provider, and notify them that they can use the system.

How does it work?

Providers go to ClinicalConnect and login with their ONE ID (e.g., firstname.lastname@oneid.on.ca).

Annual Reponsibilities

As part of our agreement with ClinicalConnect, people with specific roles must complete the following each year.

Legal Signing Authority

The Legal Signing Authority [currently Chris Read] must perform semi-annual attestations of the Privacy Contact, Information Security Contact, and Local Registration Authority(s). It is simply a matter of checking and, if necessary, updating the names of the people assigned to those roles in ClinicalConnect.

Privacy Contact

This is currently Austin Rich. Information about the Privacy Contact’s role and tasks can be found at https://info.clinicalconnect.ca/CC/healthcare/participants.

Information Security Contact

This is currently Lance and he has no idea what, if anything, he needs to do for this role. He’s sure someone will tell him. Someday. Hopefully.

Local Registration Authority

The Local Registration Authority (LRA) must perform semi-annual attestations of the Providers we have granted access to the system. It is simply a matter of checking the https://ags.clinicalconnect.ca/ and, if necessary, removing names of people who have left Campus Wellness.
