Record a Video on PowerPoint
The following describes how to make a video that combines an audio recording with a PowerPoint presentation.
Making the PowerPoint
When making the PowerPoint presentation, please keep these guidelines in mind:
The bottom-left corner of the video will show what your webcam sees while it is recording you on every slide. Please keep this in mind when making text, putting in images, etc.
Be sure to include a title slide for the very first slide of the presentation.
If you have slides where you would like it to show only your camera...
Go to the empty slides that you left as placeholders.
In PowerPoint, go to the Record tab.
Click the Cameo button and choose This Slide.
Double-click the inserted camera circle. Change it to the first rectangular image (see below).
Click the inserted camera field.
Expand it to fill up the entire slide screen.
How to Record on PowerPoint
Press the Record button in the top-right.
In this screen, you can now preview anything that will be recorded. You can also add a script if you’d like.
Make sure that your camera and microphone are ON.
When you are ready, select the red record button at the top.
If you are making a video that will need to be edited at some point, remember to:
Leave 10 seconds of silence after hitting Record before beginning your presentation.
Leave 10 seconds of silence before stopping the recording.
Clicking on the slides will take you to the next slide (just like a normal PowerPoint).
Save Your Recording
When you reach the end and have stopped the recording, it will say End of slide show. Click here to export your video.
Click the black screen.
Provide the file with an appropriate name.
Click Browse and save it to the proper location.
